5 Video Game Endings that will make you Scream

With Major League Gaming becoming the favourite online broadcasting network for top e-sports all around the world, we can no longer say that video gaming is only a child's play. Most of these e-sport games like Dota 2, League of Legends and Counter Strike give hardcore gamers opportunities to stay engaged in an activity they love and get handsomely paid for it. Even famous gaming youtubers like Pewdiepie (who can now boast of having over 42 millions subscribers) and Smosh brothers get their main income from hosting exciting video game reviews.

Whether it is for money or for leisure, video games are one of the best sources of entertainment that excite the players' imagination, taking them to separate worlds where they can play different stories and live different lives. That being said, every industry comes with its own shades of the good, the bad and the ugly. Video games are always fun and exciting, but not all of them make the mark when it comes to success. But each game does leave some sort of impression, and one of the ways they succeed in doing so is by presenting an ending that can titillate controversies, leave the audience dissatisfied or horrify gamers so that they get quite the shock of their lives.

So what game endings have earned the top spot in the hearts of avid video gamers? Which video game endings are definitely going to make you scream, whether from frustration, horror or despair? The list below has been ranked from the most annoyingly disappointing to the most entertaining (Attention: Spoiler Alert!) :

Borderlands

Borderlands is an RPG series that took a special place in our hearts because of introducing to us a big new world called Pandora, where everything from marauders, alien monsters and evil bosses are trying to kill you. Gearbox Software- its developer- stated that there were about 17,750,000 guns in this game, since it follows an algorithm that auto-generates different weapons of unique classes, and elements. From snipers rifles, pistols to shotguns, you can find any gun of unique reload speed, firing speed and damage effects. As if this was not enough to make gamers trigger happy, the weapons come with unique elements as well which could add extra effects of fire, chemical erosion and electroshocks. You could shoot a fire bullet at an enemy and watch his face melt with satisfaction.

While this gameplay was unique in its settings, sadly its hype did not lead to an amazing end. Borderlands fans usually have a lot of fun farming weapons that could help them get a better chance of killing evil bosses easily, but the boss fight at the end was so weak and quick that fans would keep staring at the screen in the end as titles appear and scream out in frustration. The end of the story was lukewarm at its best. Of course, with so many disappointed fans screaming at Gearbox for this horrible ending, the latter really made up for it in borderlands 2, which clearly is the best one in the series.

Shadow of the Colossus

Released for Playstation 2, this game from Japan was quite well known for its jaw-dropping ending. The story follows the adventures of a young warrior called Wander, who is on his mission to revive the love of his life, Mono. The story begins with him stealing an ancient sword and entering the Forbidden Land. There, he comes across the shadow of Dormin, which promises him to restore his lover back to life, in return of some favours. The mission for Wander was to hunt down the sixteen colossi and kill them. If he did, he would have everything he ever wanted.

The game is immersive and highly challenging, where players have to focus on little details and solve puzzles to know the weaknesses of each colossus. With every colossus he killed, he changed. The game blurs the defined lines between heroes and villains, as we eventually learn at the end that Wander's ideals were less than noble. With every colossus he brought down, he helped the evil master(Dormin) get stronger until he was possessed by the evil spirit.
