Battle

Battle in Mario Kart 7 is different to the DS battle. there are 2 modes, balloon battle and coin runners. In balloon battle, you pop players balloons to add to your score. In coin runners, you collect the most coins. You can pick the difficulty of the computers, the items and whether to have teams. There is a time limit of 2 minutes in both modes.

Balloon Battle - Balloon battle is back in this Mario Kart. You must pop other players balloons to increase your score. If you lose all your balloons, you will lose 1,2 or 3 balloons, depending on your score. Hitting another player with a mushroom or a star will steal one of their balloons, giving you an extra life before you lose your balloons.

Coin Runners - Coin runners is back in Mario Kart 7. You must collect the most coins to win the match. Just one hit will make you drop 1,2 or 3 coins! The tip is to collect as much coins at first before the opponents do. If you hit a player with a mushroom or a star, you will gain 1 coin.

In Mario Kart 7, battle is a fun mode for when you are sick of racing. With the 2 modes combines in battle, it will surely last throughout the Mario Kart series.
