Marvel Snap is available on PC, iOS, and Android. Take a look at our cheats and tips to get help in the game.
Marvel Snap is a digital collectible card game that features characters from the Marvel universe. Players each have a deck of 12 cards. Each card depicts a Marvel character with cost, power level, and potentially a special ability. At the start of each round, players simultaneously put one card or more face down on one of three locations. Locations are randomly assigned for each match, and each location has a unique effect. At the end of each round cards are revealed and special abilities of cards trigger. Whoever has the highest power at a given location wins that location. The goal of the game is to win two out of the three locations. The game usually lasts six rounds, each of them giving an increasing 'energy' to play more powerful cards.
Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include why you should spend Gold wisely and the best early strategy in Marvel Snap.
The premium currency in Marvel Snap is Gold, and it can be acquired free the following ways.
- On both the free and paid Season Pass tracks.
- Completing Weekly Challenges (visible at the top of the Missions tab).
- Purchasable via the in-game store.
- Occasional gifts from the dev team in your Inbox.
- Ranked rewards.
Getting hold of a decent amount of Gold free will require a lot of grinding so you when you do eventually have it you will want to use it as efficiently as possible. The most cost-effective way of spending Gold is on Daily Mission refreshes once you have completed those that naturally arrived. Refreshing costs 120 for 2 missions. When complete these two missions on the 'Easy' and 'Hard' mission you will earn 150 Credits and 75 Season Pass XP.
Resist the temptation of playing a card or two in the same location as doing so means you will leave yourself vulnerable to being outmatched at the other two locations. The best strategy when you begin playing Marvel Snap is to play your first few turns across all three locations. Then use the final few turns of the game to bolster areas where you are already ahead, or play a high-power card/effect on the last turn to swing the location back in your favor.
Although it is tempting to put all your Credits into upgrading your favorite card, so it advances high into the upgrade tiers this is something you should avoid doing. The reason is that in the early game cards will come quickly via the Collection Level track and each time you upgrade a card the resource required quickly increases. As the rewards for progressing upgrades don't scale according to the cost increase (see list below) it is more beneficial to climb the earlier ranks of the Collection Level by sticking to Uncommon and Rare upgrades for cards.
- Uncommon
25 Credits, 5 Boosters, 1 Collection Level unlocked.
- Rare
100 Credits, 10 Boosters, 2 Collection Levels unlocked.
- Epic
200 Credits, 20 Boosters, 4 Collection Levels unlocked.
- Ultra
400 Credits, 40 Boosters, 8 Collection Levels unlocked.
- Infinity
500 Credits, 50 Boosters, 10 Collections Levels unlocked.
Make sure you always pay attention to the cards that your opponent is playing against you as they may be cards you have never encountered before or cards that you already know and possess and being used in a way you hadn't considered. Coupling a card with a specific Location, or synergizing with another card that you hadn't thought of is a great way to learn new and exciting strategies.
It is recommended that you experiment with different types of decks. This is worthwhile doing because even if you lose, you will still earn Card Boosters to upgrade lower rarity cards.
