Top 10 TV Shows that Should be Made into a Major Game

6. Bob's Burgers

Cartoons all sooner or later make their way into games, when successful. Some, like the Spongebob titles, go overboard and produce mountains of content. Others, like Adventure Time, try to attach themselves to a nostalgic theme to sucker their crowd in. Animated licenses rarely achieve great heights, but that shouldn't stop anyone from making some lighthearted pastime.

The quirky Belcher family in Bob's Burgers and their strong personalities are already relatable. Father Bob tries to manage a sober restaurant in a shore town with the help of wife Linda, periodically also assisted by the kids: Big sis Tina, middle child Gene and preteen hell-raiser Louise. Linda likes to connect to her spirited past. Tina is a budding woman looking for love. Gene enjoys the juvenile things young boys like. Louise, well, that bunny ears-wearing rapscallion just wants to see the world burn. Each can become a fan favorite, due to their distinctive style. Even the townspeople react to this kookiness, which transforms the entire universe into a comical, yet down to earth, playground.

Belchers are too unique to be separated too much, so an arcade brawler or generic licensed adventure wouldn't work too well. Their strength comes from a family bond or an interaction with multiple people. So, to complete the group's exceptionality, this game could reach for a Japanese roleplaying game (RPG). Something like Star Ocean or the “Tales of' series would keep characters together, pit them against others and still maintain a certain dynamic, thanks to active battles.

For one, the RPG could revisit known show locations, such as the pier's fairground, the school or Mr. Fischoeder's mansion. That last one may sound a bit out of place, but it's a large area, which also spawned a majestic 'My Neighbor Totoro' moment that would feed into the Japanese angle perfectly. Secondly, characters with strong bonds could pair up for stat buffs, such as Bob and Linda or the kids. Enemies such as the Pesto twins could benefit from the same mechanism to even things out. It recently worked for South Park in a somewhat similar manner, so why not?
