More / Less Air

Within Mario Golf, you can adjust your shot to get more or less air under your shots. To do this, hold the Z Button before you hit the ball. While you hold the Z Button, move the control pad either up or down. From there, hit your ball.

If you move the control pad up, you will get less air under your ball. This will normally cause your ball not to go very far in the air, but will cause it to move more along the ground.

If you move the control pad down, you will get more air under your ball. This will normally cause your ball to go further in the air, but will cause it not to move much once it hits the ground.

If you don't do either on those, your ball will travel normally through the air.
