Grand Prix

The Grand Prix in Mario Kart 8 is basically the same as previous Grand Prix's; there are 4 modes, the 50cc, 100cc, 150cc & Mirror Modes. The 50cc is the slowest, 100cc is average, & 150cc & Mirror are the fastest races. Placing 1st in a 150cc cup will unlock you a random character. There are no set characters to specific cups. The Grand Prix races work with 4 races; all in the same cup, each giving the player a maximum of 15 points a race. CPU racers are chosen randomly, & their karts or bikes are also chosen randomly. Scoring a grand total of 60 points in the Grand Prix will earn the player a 3 star ranking for that cup. No settings can be altered in a Grand Prix, apart from choosing the speed & direction. Items will always appear in Grand Prix races, meaning if you are a good racer, you will still have to deal with an average of 1 blue shell a race.

The Grand Prix of Mario Kart 8 has been the same it has always been in the Mario Kart series, adding a fun mode to the game. Grand Prix's are good for seeing which cup is your best cup, & which is your favourite cup. The mode proves to be one of the best offline playing modes in the game, & will continue to thrive in future Mario Kart games.
